The Sharks pulled off a much-needed, bounce-back performance the week prior running out 48-10 victors over the Bulldogs.

The Dragons are coming off a disappointing 48-18 loss to the Warriors in Wollongong in the aftermath of club captain Ben Hunt requesting a release from his contract.

Craig Fitzgibbon has named the same 17 that took down Canterbury in Round 16.

Toby Rudolf has been named among the reserves as he eyes a return from a toe issue that has kept him out since Round 5.

The sides met earlier this season at Kogarah with the Sharks coming away with a decisive 40-8 victory.

Cronulla are currently riding a six-game winning streak against their arch rivals and have won eight of the fixture’s past nine clashes.

Splitting them in Shire has proven more difficult in recent years with both sides having won four of the past at the venue.

The Sharks are currently sitting at fourth on the ladder, although due to bye discrepancies, the four teams directly beneath them have won an extra game.

The Dragons have won two from five since parting ways with Anthony Griffin midseason but still find themselves 17th on the ladder.

The Sharks enter the matchup as favourites with bookmakers expecting their recent fortunes versus the Red V to continue.
