Last year they hosted the Christmas markets in Kurnell and after it proved so popular, they moved the Easter markets to the scenic Don Lucas Reserve at Wanda Beach. Kudos to the team who were told that no-one goes to Kurnell. Mads Anderson from Cambridge Markets recalls, “We were told they won’t go. But actually, it was too popular. It was very busy getting into Kurnell; one road in, one road out. Don Lucas has easy access and easy parking.”
And it’s because of that success they continued to do a Christmas market again, this time over 2 days – Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December.
Now with 150 stalls plus rides for the kids, music, international hot food and with the addition of a licenced area, the markets are set to be a whole festive experience.
Not only will you be able to get some amazing items from artisan producers, but it will be your one-stop-Christmas-shop. Everything from giftware, homewares and toys to Christmas paraphernalia, wrapping paper and decorations. You can even get Christmas puddings, gingerbread houses and trees!
“It’s a shopping experience and a fun day out,” Mads continues. “The aim is to support small businesses. A lot of the stalls make and produce their own products and are really passionate about their product. So, it’s really great to be able to support people in that way.”
Whether you want to come down and tick a few of your gift list items off or just hang out with a coffee and listen to the music, the weekend is set to be a huge community success.
Cronulla Christmas Markets will be held at Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda Beach on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December between 10am and 4pm.
