Serving World-Famous Food From Latin American

Now let's taco-bout this Mexican menu, see what we did there...

To get a true taste of Mexico order yourself a savoury torta, a crispy roll that comes loaded with a variety of fillings that'll tingle your tastebuds.

You can choose from the cheesy veal schnitzel, potato and chorizo and pulled pork tortas, as well as a bacon and egg one to cure your morning craving.

You also can't go wrong with a traditional and freshly made empanada, a traditional Latin American baked savoury pastry.

Just some of the tasty fillings The Mangrove Shack offers for their empanadas are chicken, tuna, pulled pork, spinach, feta and more.

Tell us about the positive impact your business makes on the Shire community and beyond.

"Bringing new flavours to town."

The homemade crunchy tacos are a true classic that will transport you straight to Mexico, some of our favourite flavours are the pulled pork and fish taco but they're all mexcellent!

What was the inspiration to start your business?

"A book called The Taco Book."

If you need a quick fix or something that's suitable to takeaway order yourself a burrito. They come with beans, cheese, salsa, a filling of choice and guac - be sure to ask for extra you can never have too much, am I right?

Whether your go-to order is a black coffee, creamy latte or a piping hot cappuccino, The Mangrove Shack team know how to make an impressive morning brew.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

“My dreams often get interrupted by the thought of customers waiting in line for their coffee. I wake up and tell myself, ‘I have to get them their daily dose of caffeine,’ and then I immediately prepare for the day.”

To add to the impressive drink menu The Mangrove Shack can also whip up mean iced coffees, iced chocolates, iced mochas and even affogatos.

Many customers enjoy the quiet and peaceful ambience of the cafe, being at the back of Taren Point. With a convenient bike track right outside the Shack many even combine a coffee date with morning ride.

“I am a coffee lover myself. That’s why I understand how crucial it is to have a cup of coffee in one hand and a torta, empanada, or taco in the other. This sounds like a delicious combo that everyone in the Shire community deserves.”
